Ooh the first round of stuff for the video machine arrived. The first delivery was the adobe video package: Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere and After effects. I installed photoshop and illustrator on my machine so I can do some of my homework without going in to use the computer labs. We have to wait for the G4 to install the other stuff, since it won't run on the imac. But this way we can save the G4 for the serious editing and use the imac for my assignments.
I signed up for one more class: Drawing for Animation. I was going to stick to four classes, but I couldn't resist the flyer that I saw, and was able to get permission to bypass the pre requisites. I'm pretty excited about this. Not only does it fill up more time, but it gives me a forum for getting ideas out so that I can do more projects when the stop motion digital camera arrives. Not, of course, that I'm lacking for ideas. I have the clay robots that I need to film from a long time ago, and I have two puppet animation projects. But still, more projects is never a bad thing.
We're going to Chicago after I get out of class tonight. I'm in class pretty much from 1 pm until 9 pm tonight, with my graphic design class then my design and appreciation class. We decided last minute yesterday. Rob has a presentation to do in Green Bay, and is driving up with one of the Chicago people. We came up with the idea that since we wanted to get to Chicago sometime this month, it might be a good idea to just grab a hotel for the weekend. That way he wouldn't have to leave at five AM to meet up with the Chicago guy at 8, and we would still have the rest of the weekend.
I'm visiting Elmhurst College while we're there. I'll do that while he's in Green Bay. I'm a little ambivalent about them. I'm still primarily interested in ILIA or, if I can't get the financial aid, UIC. Elmhurst doesn't have an animation program per se, but they do have a multimedia design and video program which looks decent enough. Plus, they have a lot of financial aid, so it might be worth looking into. But this way, I get to see whether I should even consider them an option or not.
Now excuse me, I have to go pack...and I just put my suitcase away from last weekend's trip...
