So it occurred to me that I should update some of the information on this web page.
For one, I made a casual mention about marriage.
First let me give some background.
Awhile back, sometime last fall, Rob and I were drinking Sangria at Abril's. We began talking about the idea of eventual marriage. Neither one of us really want the big production, the over inflated prices, and all the hoopla. We thought a drunken binge in Vegas, involving an Elvis Impersonator, was probably the way to do  it. The discussion happened organically. We had no real time frame, just some time we'd go to Vegas and just sort of...do it.
Well, then some friends mentioned that they would be going to Vegas next Christmas. They asked us to go. Rob relayed the question to me.
"So, um honey?" I asked. I was baffled by what the plans were for this Vegas thing, especially since we alreayd had made plans to visit Italy and Greece.
"Yeah?"
"So are we going to do the Elvis thing then?"
"If we get around to it, sure."
Well this whole thing felt a tad bit weird to me. I mean I was thinking we'd fly to Vegas on a day or so's notice, and spontaneously do the whole elvis scenario. So we talked about it and decided that this would not be the time, and doing this a year in advance felt like this odd plan, and it seemed to lack the romance of the whimsical approach. I talked to Rob and we agreed that we really should do the Mediterranean tour this year. There are enough frequent flyer miles that we are likely to have some offer or other to go  to Vegas on the fly. (no pun intended.)
Plans are funny things. They really are. I mean, I know mine change a lot but I still like to have them. They give us things to hope for, things to look forward to, goals to strive for. Some of them may change but the ones you really want always seem to take shape.
I've been wanting to go back to school for graphic arts. I've tried this many times...at Columbia, then when I was looking at Oakton. I've changed plans back and forth due to various information that comes forward. But ultimately I am going to go back to it. I've been getting my affairs in order for when I do that in Kalamazoo, a place where that will actually be a practical reality.
I suddenly realized how close this move is...three months and counting. In a little over a week, I'm going to Kalamazoo to put a deposit down on an apartment. I also will probably go visit Kalamazoo Valley to get more information on their animation program.
