Well, that resolves that little conflict.
So, I just got off the phone with financial aid to check on my academic status for financial aid. Apparently to determine eligibility, they have to check your status with each school. Since I never paid my tuition at Columbia, they won't give financial aid access to my grades. That means no financial aid for Amy.
Well, fuck.
If I'd known they were going to do that to me, I would have stolen something more expensive than a light board before I left.
Oh well, Valley is really cheap. I guess that answers my question about whether I should work while I'm going to school. My only question is going to be where I work. I think I'm going to still do school full time and just work part time.
I'm not sure what, if I want an office job part time and evening classes or take classes during the day and work during the evening. Well, it won't be the first time.
Rob cooked an awesome dinner for me last night. It was vegetarian lasagna with a vodka cream sauce. It was really nice. It's lovely to have a boyfriend who is such an excellent cook.
I went into earwax to open an account in their video store. I noticed they were hiring for baristas. I filled out the application, or started to. It was a copy of a copy of a copy. I could hardly read half of it so I wound up not knowing how to answer a lot of the questions. It also had way too many questions, I thought they were going to ask for a damned essay. I got toward the end and decided, fuck it, I don't want to fill out this crap. It's too much hassle for a job that probably pays six bucks an hour, and where your hipness seems to be the defining qualification anyways. As we left, Rob said it was  probably the kind of place where it's all who you know to get the job. That could be true. Fuck it, I would rather work at a damned starbucks and that's saying a lot.
I'm going to a few more temp places this week, to see about picking up temporary work. Heh, figures that most temp places seem to want to do permanent placement of me, but I guess that makes sense. Better commission for them.
